Add A Little Bit Of P31 Green Aperitif And Spritz Goes Down: P31 Green Spritz
Spritz, coming from Triveneto, has become an integral part of the culture of our peninsula and It is certainly one of the best known drinks, in demand and drunk for years in Italy (and not only now). Simple to realize, it was born in the nineteenth century during Habsburg occupation almost by chance (Austrian soldiers in Veneto began to “spray” the Italian white wine with sparkling water to dilute it a little bit), Spritz has different versions depending on the city, season or taste of those who request it.
And if you think that by now all ideas to compose it have run out (with rosemary spritz, pomegranate spritz and you name it), the arrival in the city of a new liquor proves the opposite, or rather that there is still a possibility to satisfy the fans’ thirst of curiosity.
We are talking about P31 Aperitivo Green, an alcoholic beverage from Padua. A city that, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, it became one of the most lively on an intellectual and cultural level thanks to the presence of literary Cafés. Meeting points frequented by students, academics and influential and powerful politicians of the time, they are places renowned not only for the ideas that come from here, but also for the drinks that, for the first time, they get tasted. Among them stands out Café Pedrocchi, located in the city centre. The Café, “the most beautiful on the earth” inaugurated in 1831, it introduces for the first time among its visitors the famous bitter drink imported from the Americas, coffee.
And so, P31 Aperitivo Green Italian could only be born here 186 years later. Infact we are in 2017 when, from one of the few survivors of the ancient Italian cafes and in the heart of the Ancient Republic of Venice, this mixture of herbs and flavors has life.
The name encloses its origin: P in honour of the historic Caffè Pedrocchi of Padua, the place where it has been designed, and 31 as the number of ingredients that make up the secret recipe but also as the year in where the famous “no doors” bar was born.
